Welcome to the Stericyte Soft Launch, where Spore Count is proud to introduce Techcyte's innovative AI platform for microbial identification to food safety professionals and testing labs across Canada and the US. Developed and owned by Techcyte, Inc.—a leading AI software platform for anatomic and clinical pathology—Stericyte harnesses machine learning to transform how contaminants like yeast and mold are detected and analyzed. As a data partner in this soft launch, Spore Count is facilitating access to this cutting-edge technology, empowering you to enhance sterility testing, ensure regulatory compliance, and accelerate R&D workflows.
During this 6-month soft launch, third-party labs can send in swabs from their food safety clients for centralized processing at our Windsor facility, with next-day presumptive results delivered via Techcyte's SaaS platform. For larger volumes or long-term needs, third-party labs and large food producers have the opportunity to explore purchasing a scanner for in-house sample analysis, enabling seamless on-site setups integrated with the Stericyte AI system.
Our commitment to innovation is strengthened through our wonderful relationship with Dr. John F. Trant, Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Windsor, and the university itself. This collaboration leverages Dr. Trant's expertise in bioorganic synthesis, computational chemistry, and biomaterial development to refine AI models and explore new frontiers in microbial detection. Based in Windsor, Ontario—home to the University of Windsor—and backed by BRS Lab Services, Spore Count serves as the regional gateway for Stericyte, combining Techcyte's innovation with our rigorous lab protocols and academic partnerships.
Stericyte specializes in swab analysis for yeast and mold, offering a seamless solution for detecting microbial threats in critical areas like production lines, equipment, and surfaces. Powered by Techcyte's AI models—trained on vast datasets for high sensitivity and specificity—this platform recognizes subtle patterns in contaminants, ensuring reliable results for food safety applications. Third-party labs can leverage this for client samples during the soft launch, while preparing for in-house capabilities via scanner purchases.
Whether you're a third-party lab forwarding client swabs, a food safety expert conducting routine monitoring, or a large producer eyeing on-site independence, the Stericyte soft launch—powered by Techcyte—equips you with the tools to stay ahead of microbial risks, drive industry-leading advancements, and participate in AOAC study groups for validation.
